One of the things about practise and repetition......your muscles build memory through the technique. The more times you perform something, the more deeply ingrained in your psyche it becomes.

when a situation arises where you are required to draw upon your martial skills.....it ought to, with practice become 'natural response - no thought process - purely insticntice and natural - no mind .

It is the perfect fighting state to be in. not angry - not sad - nothing just what it is .....there is a lot more on this topic .....and this is a crude thumbnail sketch...maybe someone else can add ?
